Title: New Installation and Upgrades of Streamgaging Systems Project (CalSIP)
Description: The purpose of the project is to upgrade existing stream gaging infrastructure at three sites and install one new gaging station which will contribute to important flow data as a part of the California stream gage network. Watershed Protection District (WPD) has been awarded grant funding through the Stream Gage Improvement Program (CalSlP) to conduct the improvements. Work involves no new maintenance in the streams, less than 10 square feet of concrete footing and bollards installed in previously disturbed areas, little to no vegetation removal or trimming, and no damage to scenic resources. No substantive increase in maintenance or site visits would occur for the existing stations; monthly to quarterly gage visits for data collection and gage maintenance would occur for the new site at Santa Clara River. The work falls under Categorical Exemption Article 19, Section 15301, Class 1 and Section 15304, Class 4.
