Description: The project would redevelop an existing 3-acre site with a 100-megawatt Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility and associated infrastructure. The project would store lithium-ion batteries within modular outdoor enclosures and transfer power that is captured by the batteries to the SCE Nola Substation during periods of increased demand via an underground 66-kilovolt generation transmission line. The project would provide a service by receiving energy from the SCE transmission system, storing the energy, and later delivering energy back to the SCE Nola Substation. The project would operate year-round and would be available to receive or delivery energy 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
