- Description
- Project involves temporary safety demonstration installations within existing rights-of-way. All improvements will occur within the footprints of existing roadways and sidewalks. Project Purpose: The purpose of the project is to install safety demonstration projects in key locations throughout Humboldt county to improve multi-modal transportation, aligned with the Humboldt County Regional Vision Zero Action Plan. Description of Project Nature: Arcata - Temporary speed humps and signage will be installed along 11th and K Streets. Approximately six temporary speed humps will be installed, along with appropriate warning signage. Ferndale - Temporary speed humps/tables, pavement markings, signage, and dynamic feedback signs will be installed along 5th Street between Arlington Street and Shaw Avenue. Fortuna - High visibility programmable radar feedback signs will be installed along two school roadway corridors. The 12th Street corridor extends from Newburg Road to 12th Street. The Ross Hill Road corridor extends from Thelma Street to Hope Street. Two signs wilt be installed along each corridor. Eureka - Temporary mini roundabout striping will be installed in two locations at the intersections of G Streat and 8th Street and L Street and 8th Street. The striping will be accompanied by temporarily Installed rubber wheel stops and dellneators. Beneficiaries: Project beneficiaries include members of the public utilizing multi-modal transit in and near the locations of the safety demonstration projects.
