Wilson Acres Mutual Water Company Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project

Description

The Wilson Acres Mutual Water Company (MWC) is a water system that currently serves 32 residences and approximately 75 customers. The existing well and water components were originally constructed in the 1950s to serve the community. The water source is groundwater pumped from a well located northwest of the intersection of Alma Avenue and Orange Grove Road. The groundwater is pumped into a 900-gallon pressure tank that was installed in 2016 adjacent to the well. The purpose of the proposed project is to replace failing and aging water infrastructure to provide safe and reliable water to customers. Improvements include the following: • Replacing ~3,200 feet of the existing water mains with new 4-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water mains. • Replacing the 32 existing water service lines. All work would be completed in previously disturbed areas, and no trees would be removed to accommodate the proposed improvements.
