Nature and Purpose: Remove the existing landscape turf surrounding the Western Water owned Bergamont Pump Station building. Western Water has received a federal grant from US Department of Interior – Bureau of Reclamation in the amount of $125,000 to complete the landscape transformation project. Western Water will replace 8,860 square feet of non-functional turf with drought-tolerant landscaping. The project will include removing the existing irrigation system and installing lowflow drip irrigation and weather-based controllers, along with drought-tolerant native plants and groundcover to retain moisture and prevent erosion. The project aligns with Western Water’s 2022 Drought Contingency Plan and is supported by various regional stakeholders, demonstrating a commitment to effective water conservation and management.
