Document Description
The project consists of shaded fuel break construction on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. The primary purpose of the project is to reduce the risk of high-severity wildfire in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) of Placer County. All work would be accomplished by hand crews, biological treatment or mechanical equipment, including but not limited to chippers, string trimmers, weed wrenches, chainsaws, and loppers. Project activities do not include those which would be expected to create underground disturbances. In an effort to further avoid impacting potential sub-surface resources, all vehicles and equipment used to transport hand crews, chippers and slash material will utilize existing roads.
