Document Description
The Kings County Community Development Agency has received an application for a land development permit that proposes to construct, operate, and ultimately decommission a utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar power generation and energy storage facility on approximately 18,381 acres. The Project consists of tracking solar PV panel arrays with a nominal output of up to 2,800 megawatts (MW) alternating current (AC) at the point of interconnection and battery energy storage with a capacity of up to 11,200 gigawatt-hours (GWh). Other Project components include Project substations, an underground collection system, and a gen-tie line that would connect the Project substations to up to two switchyards located adjacent to the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) transmission corridor. The Project would also include telecommunication facilities and an operations and maintenance facility.
