Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-52695-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, to Shelterwood Collective.
The project is limited to the removal and replacement of four existing culverts, removal of an existing culvert and replacement with a rock ford, and the reconstruction of an existing low water crossing, on five different unnamed tributaries to Bearpen Creek. The new culverts will be corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culverts, which will be upsized to properly convey flows and reduce erosion. The rock ford crossing at map point (MP) 1.11 will replace an existing approximately 20-foot-long culvert and include removal of the existing concrete wingwalls. The rock ford crossing at MP 1.18 will be reconstructed within the same footprint as the existing crossing with no new net impact. The project will result in approximately 40 linear feet (100 square feet) of new permanent impacts to riparian habitat from the extension of culverts, and an additional approximately 136 square feet of permanent impacts to riparian habitat in the form of new riprap. In total, the project will result in approximately 236 square feet of permanent impact to riparian habitat. The project will also result in approximately 2,460 square feet of temporary impacts to riparian habitat. A total of five riparian trees will be removed as part of this project. Access and staging will occur via existing roads. Work will occur when tributaries are dry, and no surface water is present.
