Document Description
The purpose of the San Andreas Pope Street Safe Routes to School Project is to provide safe bicycle and pedestrian connections through the main central residential neighborhood in San Andreas and to nearby schools. The Project will construct a multi-use asphalt pathway, 6 to 10-feet wide along Main Street, Pope Street, Lewis Avenue, California Street, Treat Avenue and Nielsen Road. In addition, the Project will install high visibility crosswalks, street lighting and intersection speed tables throughout the Project area. To accommodate pedestrian facilities, California Street would be modified from a two-way street to a one-way street from its northern-most intersection with Pope St to SR-49.
