Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-55944-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to City of Sebastopol.
The project is limited to the extension of an existing trail system that runs along the Laguna de Santa Rosa. The project includes the construction of a new 48-foot-long by 8-foot-wide pedestrian bridge fully spanning Zephyr Creek and new 10-foot-wide by 2-foot-long cast-in-place concrete bridge abutments on both sides of Zimpher Creek. The new pedestrian bridge will be composed of aluminum and assembled on-site, and then placed on the new concrete abutments. Abutments will be located above the top of bank and the bridge will be outside of the 100-year flood elevation. The project also involves the construction of a 12-inch-wide by 8-foot-long high-density polyethylene (HDPE) culvert along the trail to pass sheet water flow under the trail and towards the Laguna de Santa Rosa. The project will result in approximately 392 square feet of permanent impact to riparian habitat. The project will also result in the removal of two riparian trees. Access and staging will occur via existing roads and developed trails.
