Reasons for Exemption
The project qualifies for a Class 4 Categorical Exemption (Section 15304 – Minor Alterations to Land) because it consists of minor vegetation thinning, pruning, and removal of surface and ladder fuels on gently sloping to moderately sloped land with no significant ground disturbance. No commercial timber will be removed, and all work will be conducted in compliance with applicable BMPs and agency guidelines to avoid impacts to sensitive resources. The project will not result in the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry management purposes and will not have a significant effect on the environment.
