Document Description
The project proposes to replace the existing outdated HVAC system in the historic Towle and Leavett building in Columbia State Historic Park to allow for the continued use of the building as a concessionaire establishment. Work will:
• Remove the existing swamp cooler from the building’s roof and cap any openings;
• Install two (2) new HVAC condensers on the roof near the location of an existing swamp cooler;
• Run necessary refrigerant tubing and electrical wiring down existing swamp cooler’s ducting to avoid new penetrations in the roof;
• Install condensate pumps to get drains through ducts to roof;
• Install two (2) wall hung indoor fan coils near old existing cooler ducts;
• Cover any visible tubing on interior walls and ceiling with tubing covers; and
• At each indoor air handler mount location, construct box covers that match the historic trim and walls to conceal the air handlers. The box covers will open at the top and bottom to allow for proper airflow and be removable for maintenance servicing.
