Document Description
(WDID 5A45CR00669) The purpose of the project is to replace an existing, failing culvert with a stable, appropriately sized culvert within Newtown Creek, under the Knauf Insulation railroad spur. Construction activities will include excavation of railroad ballast material, removal of the existing culvert, installation of a pre-cast concrete culvert, construction of concrete wingwalls, and placement of rock at the inlet and outlet of the culvert. Following installation of the replacement culvert, track ballast material will be replaced on top of the replacement culvert. Removal of existing vegetation on the eastern side of Newtown Creek and construction of a temporary access road will be required for equipment and trucks to access the work area. If authorized by Union Pacific Railroad, the existing railroad access road may also be used for access to the work area.
