Document Description
The project is expected to enhance off-channel fisheries and riparian habitat as well as create habitat features that assist in the recovery of salmonids on the North Fork Salmon River. Phase 1 and 3 of the project includes lowering the floodplain, the construction of a side channel, alcove, and secondary alcove, the installation of large wood structures, the installation of channel riffles, and revegetation of the disturbed areas of the project; these activities are discussed in SCH No. 2024100483. Phase 2 of the project includes the construction of a side channel, middle channel, alcove, and a north channel, the construction of a torrent sedge shelf in the existing perennial side channel, the enhancement of the split-channel river bar and the Cronan Gulch alcove, the installation of step-pools, the dewatering of Gallia Pond, the invasive species removal from Gallia Pond, and the filling in of portions of Gallia pond; these activities are discussed in SCH No. 2025091295.
