The originally approved project consists of: The Dogwood Geothermal Energy Project located on approximately 125 acres located about one mile south of Heber. Components of the project include a geothermal plant and associated facilities, a solar facility, geothermal production and injection wells, and a geothermal fluid pipeline. Up to three production wells and one injection well are proposed to be installed. Installation of the wells include preparing a well pad, drilling and completing the well, and connecting the well to the pipeline network. Imperial County, as Lead Agency, prepared and approved an Environmental Impact report (EIR) in August 2025. The California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) considered the EIR prepared by the Lead Agency and issued Permits to Conduct Well Operations for two wells.
