Document Description
The proposed project is Phase 2 of the Feather River Salmonid Habitat Improvement Project (FRSHIP). FRSHIP was previously certified under WDID 5A04CR00349 to place approximately 16,260 cubic yards of clean spawning gravel. Phase 2 proposes to place approximately 7,900 cubic yards of clean spawning gravel. Areas in need of additional spawning gravel have recently been identified within the original footprint of the proposed project. Some of the gravel placed during Phase 1 in 2023 has been washed downstream and would be replaced as part of Phase 2. The total of approximately 7,900 cubic yards of imported spawning gravel would be placed at six locations, with two alternate locations also being included if there is still spawning gravel available of the allotted 7,900 cubic yards. Approximately 100 cubic yards of accumulated material at the entrance of Moe’s side channel would also be redistributed within the adjacent Top of Auditorium Riffle spawning site.
