The Project will replace a bridge, retaining wall, culverts, and make road improvements to restore function to infrastructure along Water Treatment Plant Road in the Town of Pescadero. This infrastructure, which provides critical access for emergency response vehicles and to a pumphouse for the CSU Butano State Park Water Treatment Plant, was damaged in the CZU Lightning Complex fire in 2020. The Project site is within Butano State Park, and consists of Little Butano Creek (Creek), a seep wetland, an Intermittent drainage, an ephemeral drainage, a seep drainage, and non-wetland riparian zone. The Project is necessary to maintain function of a pumphouse which supplies the CSU Butano State Park Water Treatment Plant, maintain critical emergency vehicle access, and restore safe recreational access. Project activities will include removing the existing burned cribbing material from the old bridge and replacing it with a new bridge, replacing a retaining wall and culvert, laying back the Creek banks to a 1.5:1 slope, and restoring temporarily impacted areas to pre-project conditions or better.
