Document Description
The County of San Luis Obispo is proposing to install a new stream gauge in Chorro Creek at the recently completed road crossing at Canet Road. The project involves installing a gauge house (approximately 10 square feet) on the bank above the high water line, a 1 to 2 inch diameter steel pipe leading from the gauge house to the water and an electric pressure transducer attached to the pipe below the water line. The pipe will be bolted to the concrete apron of the existing culvert in order to secure it during high flow. Additionally, a staff gauge will be either attached to or painted on the bridge supports. All work will be done using hand tools such as cordless drills and wrenches. The project site is within the Agriculture land use category within the Estero planning area of the San Luis Obispo County General Plan. Adjacent uses consist of single-family residences, crops, and undeveloped lands.
