North Bay Forest Improvement Program - Gualala Arts Center

Description

Approximately 4 acres are to be treated at the Gualala Arts Center property. Treatments will include thinning small-diameter trees and competing vegetation, pruning lower limbs, and treatment of resulting slash through pile burning. The project is intended to reduce hazardous fuels and ladder fuels, improve forest health and stand resilience, and promote desirable native vegetation while retaining healthy overstory trees. Treatments will follow project-specific best management practices for protection of watercourses, wildlife, and other sensitive resources. Treatments were developed using recommendations from a Forest Management Plan prepared by a Registered Professional Forester.
