Title
Proposed BREI Solar Farm
Description
The project site consists of multiple parcels totaling approximately 116 acres within the City of Oroville, Butte County, California. Primary parcels include APNs: 035-470-028, 035-470-031, 035-470-035, 035-370-005, 035-460-027, portions of 035-370-002, 035-470-022-000, 035-470-036-000, and 035-470-037-000. The sites are generally bounded by South 7th Avenue, Baggett Marysville Road, and Ophir Road, east of the Feather River and south of Downtown Oroville. BREI proposes to construct and operate a utility-scale solar energy generation and battery storage facility across approximately 116 acres of disturbed industrial and commercial parcels, including portions of the former Koppers Superfund site. The project will include ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) solar panels installed on pre-cast concrete slab foundations, inverters, battery storage units, internal access roads, perimeter security fencing, and interconnection to the existing PG&E grid system. The facility will operate as an unmanned renewable energy installation, with only periodic maintenance and security visits. No permanent structures, housing, or septic systems are proposed. The project is intended to generate renewable electricity to serve local businesses, homes, and industrial users, reducing reliance on fossil-fuel-based electricity in support of state and local climate action goals.
