Title: Bakersfield Temple
Description: The Project involves the proposed development of an approximately 13.07-gross-acre (11.76 net acres) religious campus on currently vacant, graded land in two phases. Phase 1 includes the construction and operation of a 29,630-square-foot temple with a steeple reaching 123 feet 6 inches, a 1,113-square-foot clothing center, an 857-square-foot grounds building, a screened equipment yard, and 199 parking stalls. Phase 2 includes a 16,370-square-foot meetinghouse with a steeple reaching 66 feet 4 inches, an additional 93 parking stalls, a 1,182-square-foot equipment yard, and a pavilion. The Project includes a cross-lot road along the northern perimeter connecting Jewetta Avenue to the adjacent western parcel. Required approvals from the City of Bakersfield (Lead Agency) include Site Plan Review No. 24-0027, Zone Modification No. 24-0032 (to allow the proposed steeple heights where 60 feet is otherwise permitted), and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 12637.
