Glenn County Regional Transportation Plan Initial Study and Negative Declaration

Description

Glenn County is located in northern Central Valley region, approximately 100 miles north of Sacramento. The purpose of the plan is to provide a transportation vision for the region, supported by goals, for 10- and 20-year planning horizons. This is accomplished by identifying transportation-related needs and issues on a regional level, reaffirming the region's goals, objectives, and polices, developing a list of improvements to the transportation system that meet the identified needs and prioritizing these improvements so as to create a financially constrained plan. The project is defined as a Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), which identifies improvements to enhance or augment regional transportation in Glenn County. The RTP does not directly provide for the implementation of transportation projects and/or facilities. Rather, it identifies necessary improvements in order to provide the best possible circulation/transportation system to meet the mobility and access needs of the entire county. The RTP is a programmatic document. Specific environmental impacts of proposed projects discussed in the RTP will be addressed and mitigated on an individual basis at the time of project review.
