Title: Red Mountain OHV Staging Area Project
Description: The Off-highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division proposes to award grant funds to the Sierra National Forest to construct a one-acre Off-Highway Vehicle staging area in the High Sierra Ranger District in Fresno County, California. The project would include parking for up to 15 OHV trucks and trailers, a double-vault toilet, 7 day-use picnic sites, informational signs, and pedestrian pathways. The project is needed to address dispersed parking along road 8S10 or 8S42, which results in safety issues, resource concerns, range conflicts, and traffic congestion. The existing user-created staging areas would be closed after project construction.
