2050 Placer County Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)

Description

The RTP is a 25-year, comprehensive, and multi-modal plan for highways, local streets and roads, transit, bicycle, aviation, rail, and goods movement. PCTPA is required to adopt and submit an updated RTP to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) and the Department of Transportation (Caltrans) every five years, with the last RTP (known as the 2044 RTP) being adopted in June 2024. This document is designed to be a blueprint for the systematic development of a balanced, comprehensive, multi-modal transportation system for the current and future needs of Placer County. The 2050 RTP was also developed in coordination with the Sacramento Area Council of Government’s (SACOG) 2025 Metropolitan Transportation Plan & Sustainable Communities Strategy (also known as the 2025 Blueprint).
