Document Description
The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the pavement through preventative maintenance on U.S. Route 395 in Mono County, from the Inyo County Line to 2.5 miles north of the Inyo County Line. The pavement within the project limits shows signs of cracking and deformation (wheel tracks) and needs to be rehabilitated. The project proposes a 0.20' cold plane of existing pavement and placement of 0.20' hot mix asphalt on the southbound #2 lane. Existing pavement markings and traffic stripes will be removed and replaced with methyl methacrylate paint pavement markings and methyl methacrylate paint traffic stripes on both lanes. All work and staging areas will be performed within Caltrans right-of-way in previously disturbed areas. No ground disturbance is anticipated.
