Document Description
The Gypsum Canyon Veterans Cemetery is a multi-phased, multi-year project that would construct a veterans cemetery on an approximately 80-acre parcel in Gypsum Canyon, including acquisition and easements; rough and fine grading; utility trenching and installation; paving of drive aisles, main entry and access roads, and cortege lanes; landscape planting and irrigation; interim storm drainage inlets; a storm water treatment basin and underground detention facilities; storm drains; potable, fire and irrigation water lines, and electrical/communications utilities within the access road and cemetery; sanitary sewer system and storage tank; development of approximately 40,759 crypts, 472 over-sized crypts, 49,395 in-ground cremains plots, and 67,040 columbaria niches (the precise number of each will be determined as each phase develops); administration and public restroom buildings; a maintenance building and paved maintenance yard with above-ground fuel storage for equipment; a ceremonial (main) entrance/avenue of the flags and cortege assembly area; a committal service shelter; a carillon tower, flag/assembly area, memorial walk and memorial wall; and signage and flower water stations.
