Document Description
The Helix Water District Administration Office is a 30,000 square foot, four-story office building constructed in 1986. The District purchased and renovated the building in the mid-1990s. It serves as the primary public facing facility for the District and houses a large portion of District staff , as well as critical information technology infrastructure. The building’s existing data cabling infrastructure, which was part of the building renovation in the 1990s, has become functionally obsolete and has reached the end of its useful life.
This Project will replace the existing Administration Office network data cabling with current technology. Existing Category 5 data cabling with be replaced with both fiber optic and Cat 6E cables, as well as related network components. This re-cabling will result in the network system’s ability to transmit significantly more data to keep up with the growing use of video and graphics applications.
Project construction is anticipated to begin in November 2026 with anticipated completion June 2027. This project will benefit District customers by maintaining reliability of service and avoiding costly emergency repair expenses. The Administrative Office is critical to the District's operations.
