Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15301; 15302, 15303,
Reasons for Exemption
The Board has determined that the project activities within the Board's authority are exempt from CEQA pursuant to the Class 1 (Existing Facilities) categorical exemption (California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15301(l). The project qualifies for this exemption because it involves removal of small existing structures and involves negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The Board has determined that the project activities within the Board's authority are also exempt from CEQA pursuant to the Class 2 (Replacement or Reconstruction) categorical exemption (California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15302). The project qualifies for this exemption because it involves the replacement or reconstruction of an existing structure or facility that will be located on the same site as the structure or facility replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity. The Board has determined that the project activities within the Board's authority are also exempt from CEQA pursuant to the Class 3 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) categorical exemption (California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15303). The project qualifies for this exemption because it involves the construction or installation of small facilities or structures, or minor conversion of an existing small structure, consistent with this exemption. The Board further finds that none of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions set forth in California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15300.2 .
