Water tanks are key assets in Eastern Municipal Water District’s (EMWD) ongoing mission to provide reliable water service. Exterior inspections and interior dive inspections revealed several water tanks operating at sub-optimal conditions, including deteriorated coating and corroded structural members in several tanks. Proper maintenance is required to ensure optimal protection of district assets and extension of the tank’s service life. The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the following tanks: Sun City Tank, Cajalco Tank, and Riparian Tank. The project includes recoating the tank exterior and interior, installation of new roof vents, perimeter safety railing, replacement of the cathodic protection system, and repair or replacement of corroded structural members. Beneficiaries of the project are EMWD ratepayers.
