Notice of Exemption
Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15301 and 15302
Reasons for Exemption
The Project involves replacement of existing structures and facilities on the same site as the existing structures and facilities are currently located, will have substantially the same purpose and capacity and involves negligible or no expansion of capacity. Therefore, staff has determined that the Project is categorically exempt from the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under sections 15301 and 15302 at the CEOA Guidelines. Staff has also determined that no unusual circumstances or
other factors set forth CEQA Guidelines section 15300.2 preclude use of these categorical exemptions. Department staff would file a Notice of Exemption with
the County Clerk upon approval of the Plans and Specifications and award of the construction contract for the Project by your Board.
