Document Description
The project involves emergency soil nail wall protection measures at the Mirada Road Pedestrian Bridge. The emergency condition is the result of progressive erosion of the bluff and displacement of existing rock slope protection (RSP) immediately adjacent to the ends of the soil nail walls at the Mirada Road Pedestrian Bridge. This erosion threatens public infrastructure, including the recently constructed bridge and soil nail walls, existing utility infrastructure, and coastal access along Mirada Road and must be addressed immediately prior to the upcoming winter storm season. Work will include the installation of temporary sandbag bluff protection within the existing RSP footprint to protect the bluff, soil nail walls, and public infrastructure from further erosion. Work will be conducted according to conservation measures and best management practices detailed in the County of San Mateo Routine Maintenance Program Manual (2025) and the San Mateo Countywide Water Pollution Prevention Program Construction BMPs (2014).
