Reasons for Exemption
After reviewing the project and its setting, the Environmental Coordinator for the County of Tuolumne has determined that the project is exempt from environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15307 because the project entails an action taken by a regulatory agency as authorized by local ordinance to assure the protection of a natural resource where th regulatory process involves procedures for protection of the environment. Zone Change LUNR-25-24 consists of rezoning portions of the site to O:AIR and O-1:AIR to protect biological and cultural resources. None of the exceptions listed in Section 25300.2 apply to this project.
