Document Description
In 2014, the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) was signed into law requiring local Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) to manage groundwater in their basins. GSAs have submitted Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) which describe how the GSA will manage groundwater in their basin, including various groundwater monitoring networks such as groundwater level monitoring and land subsidence monitoring. However, there are many gaps in groundwater monitoring networks across the basins, statewide. This Project is to install high-resolution measurements for subsidence monitoring through DWR’s Statewide Groundwater Monitoring initiative.
