Document Description
The Port of Long Beach approved an Area Assignment (AA-26-04) with Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (Toyota) for vehicle storage adjacent to the Toyota Lease area (HD-7837). This vacant parcel was previously relinquished by Toyota under the Fourth Amendment to said Lease. The effective date of AA-26-04 will be November 1, 2026 and will expire January 31, 2027, however, either party may terminate this Assignment prior to the expiration date upon ten (10) days written notice to the other.

Reasons for Exemption
The Class 1 Categorical Exemption consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The Area Assignment allows for vehicle storage, which is consistent with the former use of this site, however was relinquished by Toyota under the Fourth Amendment to Lease HD-7837. The Area Assignment includes no expansion of existing or former use.
The Port has determined that none of the exceptions to the exemptions in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15300.2 foreclose the use of Categorical Exemption CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 Existing Facilities (Class 1); therefore, the Project is exempt from CEQA and no further environmental review is required.
