Reasons for Exemption
The Proposed Project would renovate an existing baseball field and practice field area to accommodate a new baseball field, new softball field, and new 3,400-square-foot field house. Operation of the facilities would remain generally similar to existing activities, such that only a negligible increase in the use of these fields would occur to allow for NCAA competitions. The capacity for additional athletic events on campus would not increase. The new baseball and softball field components (new batting cages, synthetic turf, scoreboard, replacement lighting, bleachers, and other accessory infrastructure) and field house would be a minor addition to the existing LAPC campus and would not result in any increase in student capacity or classroom space.
