Document Description
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) plans to remove a series of artistic panels currently installed on the exterior surface of an existing water tank in the southern portion of the Scattergood Generating Station located at 12700 Vista Del Mar, Los Angeles, CA 90293. Since its installation in 2018, the panels have experienced sun-related deterioration, including fading and material degradation. In 2023, LADWP initiated efforts to repair and replace affected panels. LADWP will remove all artistic panels from the water tank. Following removal of the panels, LADWP will conduct surface restoration activities to preserve the structural integrity and appearance of the water tank. Restoration activities may include rust removal, surface cleaning, spot repairs, application of protective coatings, paint, and/or new panel installations. The activities are limited to maintenance, repair, and minor alteration of an existing facility and will not involve ground disturbance, expansion of use, or any changes to facility operations.
