Document Description
The Eastside Aquifer Restoration Initiative (EARI) Project is a groundwater sustainability project proposed by the Eastside Water District (EWD), in partnership with the Turlock Irrigation District (TID) and East Turlock Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (ETSGSA), to convey replenishment water to agricultural areas south of the TID Main Canal and enhance in lieu and direct groundwater recharge within the eastern portion of the Turlock Subbasin. The Project would involve construction and operation of a new turnout on the TID Main Canal, a pump station, conveyance pipeline, regulating basin, turnouts along the pipeline and Mustang Creek to deliver replenishment water to agricultural lands, turnouts on Sand Creek and Mustang Creek, and re-channelization of portions of Mustang Creek to continue the conveyance of replenishment water to Mustang Lake, when available. Replenishment water would be used to offset groundwater pumping during the irrigation season and to facilitate direct groundwater recharge during the non irrigation season.
