Document Description
Beach access via stairway #6 has reached a condition that poses a public safety risk due to its age and deferred maintenance. The disrepair includes splintering handrails and worn and broken treads. In addition, the footings are in a state of advanced disrepair from years of use and exposure to a coastal environment. The existing stairway will be demolished and replaced near the existing staircase. The project also includes improvements to the nearby existing restroom facility including modifications to meet current accessibility guidelines. Additional work would include, but is not limited to, parking modifications and paths of travel to meet accessibility guidelines.
Project requirements incorporated to avoid and/or minimize environmental impact as well as further project information may be obtained by contacting the environmental coordinator at the contact information below.
