Document Description
Approximately 4.3 acres are to be treated on the Miller property. Treatments will include thinning small and intermediate trees and competing vegetation, selective reduction of dense understory vegetation, and treatment of resulting slash through pile burning and chipping. The project is intended to reduce hazardous fuels and ladder fuels, improve forest health and stand resilience, and promote desirable native vegetation while retaining healthy overstory trees. Treatments will follow project-specific best management practices for protection of watercourses, wildlife, and other sensitive resources. Treatments were developed with consideration of recommendations from a Forest Management Plan prepared by a Registered Professional Forester.
