Document Description
The scope of work encompasses approximately 3,200 square feet of new sidewalk infrastructure, including curbs, gutters, drainage improvements, and driveway approaches, along the north side of Sherman Avenue, between Day Street and Pepper Street. The Project will also include Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) elements to ensure accessibility, walkability, and compliance. All work will be conducted within the existing City of Moreno Valley right-of-way.

Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to CEQA, the project was reviewed and determined to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to State Guidelines Sections 15301(c) for existing facilities. These improvements are all consistent with the guidance provided in the City’s Rules and Procedures for the Implementation of CEQA (Section 5.1.2), such as the minor alteration to an existing public facility involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels. The project will not add any additional lanes or increase street capacity to Sherman Avenue. All work will be conducted within the existing City of Moreno Valley right-of-way.
