Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to Title 14, Sections 1.5332 (Class 32, In-Fill Development Projects) and l5303 (Class .3, New
Construction or Conversion of Small Structures), this project is categorically exempt. The project is the
construction of one 1.0 million gallon water storage tank, approximately 86 feet in diameter, on a
previously graded 1.65-acre site within the city limits of the City of Orange Cove, designated Industrial
and zoned M-1 Light Manufacturing. Tl1e site is under five acres, is substantially surrounded by urban
uses, has no value as habitat for endangered, rare, or threatened species, and is served by existing
utilities and public services. Additionally, this project would not result in any significant effects relating
to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality.
Furthermore, pursuant to Section 15300.2 (Exceptions), no exception applies, and there is not a
reasonable possibility that this project will have a significant effect on the environment due to unusual
circumstances associated with this project.
