Document Description
The project proposes to replace two (2) footbridges along the Durphy Trail in Richardson Grove State Park with bridge made of materials that will withstand decay and prevent catastrophic bridge failure. For each bridge, work will use hand, gas or generator powered tools for the following:
• Suspend tarps beneath the existing bridges to catch small debris that may fall during removal or construction of the structures;
• Construct new abutments on the same pad as those of the old bridges;
• Install rigging to aid in the placement of larger structural components, i.e., mud sills, stringers, etc.; and
• Install decking and railing.
Treated wood and hardware will be removed from the site and disposed of at the maintenance yard and untreated redwood will be scattered, out of view, across the forest floor.
