Document Description
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is proposing to install three monitoring wells in the Central Basin, which will be used to monitor groundwater elevations in the underlying aquifers to better understand aquifer conditions and improve water resource management in the Central Basin area. Two monitoring wells will be installed on LADWP property located at 518 W 78th St, Los Angeles, CA 90044 and 5848 Miramonte Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90001. The third monitoring well will be installed within West 67th Street near its intersection with South Main Street. The exact depth of each monitoring will be determined after reviewing the lithological logs obtained from pilot boreholes. The work area for each monitoring well will be approximately 12 feet by 200 feet and utilize existing roads for site access and material laydown. No grading, grubbing, or tree removal will be needed. No street closures are anticipated during construction activities.
