Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Sections 15301, 15302, and 15304
Reasons for Exemption
The Project would not expand the existing drainage, irrigation, or roadway use, add new crossings, or substantially increase hydraulic capacity, thereby qualifying for a Class 1 exemption. Replacement culverts would be installed within existing footprints and would maintain substantially the same drainage purpose and hydraulic capacity as the culverts replaced. As such, the Project would also be exempt under Class 2. Construction activities associated with the Project would not remove any healthy, mature, scenic trees. As such, the Project would also qualify for the Class 4 exemption.
