Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to update district 2 offramp signs to current “Wrong Way” sign standards. Some ramps in Caltrans District 2 were not updated through previous projects, and the signs need to be updated to meet current standards. Work includes roadside sign installation and roadside grinding for recessed pavement delineation. Post depths for the signs are estimated at approximately 1.5 feet. This project is necessary to provide a warning system for vehicles entering the wrong direction on a one-way offramp and to update existing warning systems. Shasta County locations are on State Highway 44 at post miles (PM) L0.84, L0.97, R0.16, R0.79, R1.1, R1.4, R1.9, R2.3, R3.4, R3.8, R4.9, R5.0, R6.8, R7.2 and State Highway 299 at PM 25.3, 25.7, 28.0, 27.5. Lassen County Locations are on State Highway 395 at PM R1.5, R4.4, R4.9.
