The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to install traffic calming measures including painted bulb outs, transverse stripes, and “keep clear” markings on State Route 49 between PM 28.66 and PM R30.07 in Sierra County. The purpose of this proposed proactive safety project is to decrease the potential of fatal and serious injury collisions by installing traffic calming measures.
