Document Description
Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) proposes to convert an inactive supply well (PW-1) at the Vineyard Surface Water Treatment Plant into an Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) well and construct associated conveyance pipelines. The work includes installing a permanent 100-horsepower pump, electrical controls, and 12-inch piping and valves connecting to the existing potable water system. SCWA also plans four future ASR wells, associated pipelines, and the conversion of three active Excelsior supply wells to ASR. ASR implementation would involve removing the existing pump, performing pre- and post-rehabilitation downhole video surveys, cleaning the well screen and filter pack to remove scaling, biomatter, and sediment, and reinstalling the pump with an ASR valve. The existing above-ground pipeline would be reconfigured to include a backflushing loop.
