The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMSPLA-67642-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Sun City Hills Community Association.
The project is limited to the installation of five (5) pond leveler devices, each consisting of beaver exclusion cages around the upstream intake and a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) double-walled corrugated pipe (ranging from 8” to12” diameter), placed across hand dug/cut notches in five (5) beaver dams. Pairs of t-posts will be installed in an 'X' configuration and secured to the pipe every 2 meters or as needed to support the pipe up off the bottom of the pond and/or streambed. Small concrete blocks will be used to anchor the pipe to the t-posts. All work will be performed with hand tools.
