Document Description
This State funded District Director’s Order (DDO) project will remove and relocate Caltrans fiber optic cables that intercepted and damaged a Fresno City sewer main at State Route (SR) 41 at postmile (PM) R28.71 and also damaged a storm drain at SR 41 at PM R25.28. The scope of work at postmile R28.71 will include removing and repairing approximately 10 linear feet of Fresno City sewer main (27” Vitrified Clay Pipe) and repairing and relocating the Caltrans fiberoptic cables that are intercepting the sewer. The work at postmile R25.28 will include removing and repairing 10 linear feet of the damaged storm drain (24” Reinforced Concrete Pipe) and repairing and relocating the Caltrans fiberoptic cables that are intercepting the storm drain. It is expected that construction will dig an estimated 10 feet in depth at PM R28.71 and estimated 5 feet in depth at PM R25.28. Vegetation removal is expected at PM R28.71 but is not expected at PM R25.28. On northbound SR 41 and Shaw (sewer repair), a temporary lane closure and Shaw Avenue SR 41 north onramp closure are expected. Under the SR 41 overcrossing on McKinley Avenue (storm drain repair), shoulder and sidewalk closure with k-rail is expected. The work is estimated to last 45 days. The work will be completed in Caltrans right-of-way. A permit to work on the city sewer main that is in Caltrans right-of-way will be required from the City of Fresno.
