Document Description
The Project proposes to replace the Martell water storage reservoir (Martell Reservoir/Clearwell). The 1.3-million-gallon Martell Reservoir/Clearwell was built in the 1970s and is antiquated infrastructure that no longer meets current design standards and is in a state of disrepair. The reservoir will be replaced with two (1.3 million gallon) water storage tanks and new inlet and outlet piping will be installed to and from the new tanks and connect to existing fill and distribution pipes. All equipment from the water treatment plant will be demolished or salvaged as part of the Project. The existing building will be protected in place for continued use by the City for non-water system operations. A new building will be constructed for water system operations near the new tanks. The existing reservoir will be demolished to make room for the new tanks. The site will be re-graded to accommodate the new tanks and portions of the access road will be re-graded to improve site access for large vehicles. Grading improvements and valve replacements will be completed to improve site drainage.
